Strategy – Automation and Networking

On 10 July 2018, the German Automotive Industry Association (VDA) in Berlin extended an invitation to the event “Automated and Connected Driving” as a presentation of good German-Chinese cooperation projects. The event was part of the 5th intergovernmental consultation between China and Germany at the former Berlin-Tempelhof airport.

Federal Minister Andreas Scheuer was one of the first to be won over by the performance of the new technologies in practice. In September 2015, the German government rolled out important guidelines to shape the future of road traffic with the “Strategy for Automated and Connected Driving”. Its objective is increased traffic safety and efficiency, fewer emissions and to strengthen Germany’s standing as a centre of business and industry.

Automated driving plays an important part in mobility in China and Germany. “The development is in full swing. I am delighted that there are so many good German-Chinese cooperation projects”, said German Chancellor Merkel in Berlin. She took part in a test run with Premier Li.

“Nothing beats seeing what is possible in practice”, said German Chancellor Angela Merkel after the presentation by the Automotive Industry Association (VDA).

Event Consult GmbH was commissioned to take care of the organisational aspects of the high-level event. Accordingly, Event Consult had overall responsibility for the technical organisation and execution of “driving events in connection with the presentation”, including the design, construction and fit-out of the individual vehicle booths, assembling and dismantling the rear walls and the stage, design and printing of all graphics and the coordination of all the trades on site. In addition, hostesses were responsible for the accreditation and support of the guests.
